History of the 22nd Marine Expeditionary Unit

Back in Sept. 2005, LCpl Webber-USMC [[LtCol]], and I, [[Colonel]] Duff, hooked up with our teamwork skills in BF2 gaming, watching each others back as done in real life, worked exceptionally well together as if brothers, and kicked a lot of butt along the way. In Oct. 2006, we were approached by Johnson with the 26thMEU, Webber and I joined up. We went thru a lot of Corp training, helped the 26th write up all of their procedures for MCT's, scenario drills, tactics and FT drills based on our training first hand. Although Webber and I made suggestions (to steer the 26th to more of the Project Reality realm) we weren't structured right, and due to the lack of organizational skills needed to run a clan as it could be, the direction we wanted to grow, the 26thMEU didn't fulfill our needs as far as contributing efforts. And at that time, we were granted and were approved the title of firing up the 22ndMEU with around 8-10 players, with soon to be future military servicemen and a few civilians. So the 22ndMEU was fired up and active Jan.10th 2006, with new recruits coming in and a few contributing members to help pay for our servers, always wanting us to move in a positive direction as a sound and solid clan. Webber left out for USMC boot-camp in California-Camp Pendleton summer of 2006, and is now stationed in Houston, TX. He left 3 Colonels to run the 22nd, one left because he wanted to run it his way(or no way at all), the other left due to personal hardships, It was then, I took it upon myself to try my best, to continue to build a solid and stable clan that any serviceman or soon to be serviceman, or civilian could be proud of, honored, and respect as their home here in the 22ndMEU clan. Webber's recent return home 072008 to the 22ndMEU clan, is a huge OOHRAH!! He will be a huge asset for us once again. I can't wait for his new up-to-date real life experience in squad FT drills used today! We will all experience more realism to be carried out by all real soon. A lot of new members that have never been in a clan, don't realize all of the "behind the scenes" work that is involved in organizing and running a realistic gaming clan, it's like a second job, and the admins, "sometimes" get to go have some fun. I think the 22ndMEU clan is well on our way to continue to be one of the most unique, and well respected BF2 clan's run today and that we all strive to achieve what we all want this clan to be. "THE REAL DEAL!"
We continue doing it right, as of August 3rd 2008, we have hit a solid member count of 40+, and we are still growing, building infantry daily, and kicking some serious butt!!! Why it works...The 22ndMEU staff and members respect one another as men and are ranked according to their duties performed FOR the clan, and are recognized of their loyalty. We openly discuss; all clan suggestions (to improve the clan as a whole) All marines have a voice in our weekly Saturday meetings. Our #1 objective is to have fun, and use teamwork as ONE. We DO NOT tolerate any issues!

We respect all current and retired military personnel and rank them according to what training and experience they can bring to our table [[WO1-CWO5 ranks]]. Yes, every recruit in the 22nd "ME-U" has to go thru our MCT-I (basic training 1 hour course) you will see why after the drill. Each new recruit has to complete MCT-I, after passing, your Ventrilo name will be your real *lastname * & MOS, and you also start a new BF2 account with your real *lastname[22ndMEU]. We use the prefix box for your rank. We stress teamwork in all of the MOD's we play together whether it's in BF2, PR, 2142 or COD4. Your real last name is required because all of your rank, medal/ribbons awards are made to you in your last name. Once you are combat ready, check on drill events to enhance gaming skills and teamwork. Try to join a fire team that suits your day and time to attend! [[check calendar]] One thing to remember here, we all work to make what the 22ndMEU is to become. I hope I have served well...Colonel Duff SEMPER~FI!
A huge OOHRAHH!! Goes out to Major Terry for building our very own BF2 map current version 1.7. It's use is endless, we can run any drill we need to on it. Contribute just $20 into our clan fund and get your very own air strip and spawn point on the map! And thanks to all of the teamwork helping him out on it.. Our next map project will be Terry building us our very own PR training map.
